How To Register A Domain/DNS Servers

This quick video tutorial will help you to understand the process of registering your domain name and teach you how to set up your web hosting.

  1. Start by registering your domain name using Name Cheap.  If you are unsure of how to choose a domain name, read this article on how to choose a great domain name.  Make sure to note your username and password, you will need to return to NameCheap after registering for your hosting account.
  2. Once you have registered your domain name, you will need to set up your web hosting account.  Click on the banner below to register your account.

Once you have registered for your hosting, you will receive an email from Hostgators with your DNS server information.  Make sure to file that email away in a safe place.   When you receive the email, log back in to your Name Cheap account and point the DNS servers according to the instructions in the video below.

You will want to make sure to point the DNS server to the addresses that you received in your welcome email.
